General Description : 

Citrus County Florida ARES, Inc. is composed of FCC-licensed Amateur Radio operators who volunteer their services as communicators when disaster strikes. Every licensed radio amateur, regardless of other affiliations, is a resource in ARES. The only qualification other than holding a valid Amateur Radio operator’s license is a sincere desire to serve in the public interest.

Note: ARES and Amateur Radio Emergency Service are registered servicemarks of the American Radio Relay League, Incorporated and are used by permission.

Citrus County ARES Meeting Information:

2020 ARES meeting dates. ARES meeting dates will be announced on the weekly net and on the ARES repeater.  Please arrive no later than 6:55 PM as the front doors will be locked for security reasons.

Nets: Citrus County ARES Net:

Note: ARES nets will now be held on the W4CIT repeater only!

All ARES nets will now be held on the W4CIT/R repeater, 146.775 mhz. with a PL tone of 146.2 hz. at 7:30 pm local time on Wednesday night.

The weekly two meter net announces emergency communications news, provides a forum to answer your questions about ARES procedures and offers training to sharpen operator skills.

North Florida AREC Net :

The Northern Florida AREC Net meets at 09:00 am on 3950 khz Monday thru Saturday. Amateurs are welcome to participate in this wide area net.
